Prophecy filfilling, September 7, 2017

Three powerful hurricanes are presently hitting the US and its neighbors, or threatening them with record powerful winds and rain. Another has nearly destroyed southeast Texas. Fires are burning out of control in many places. Small earthquakes beacon massive ones to come. North Korea has recently tested a powerful hydrogen bomb capable of mounting on a long range missile capable of hitting U.S. territories. The US and other powers are prepared to respond with devastating power should that occur. Governments around the world are dysfunctional and unable to rule effectively. Religious powers are calling for unity with Sunday as the common rallying point for rest and worship with legislative enforcement already beginning to appear.

We humans recognize our role in creating global warming, one of the factors contributing to the natural disasters. Of course, we also recognize our role in creating weapons of mass destruction. We even recognize that we are responsible for the global dysfunction approaching anarchy that we see all around the world. In fact, we sometimes tend to blame one another. Yet, in this world, though we sometimes deny the existence of God by our thoughts, words, and actions, we still tend to blame God for all of these problems. When there is no one else to blame, God is always the “fall guy.” In fact, all through history, human beings have tended to ignore or deny the existence of God until all other options have been exhausted.

That being the case, we may expect nothing less while facing the present events occurring in our world today. And given that fact, we may soon expect legislation demanding unification in the name of God and the first day of the week that we have established (in His place) whereby to appeal and to appease Him as the elements of nature continue their rapid increase in power and destruction. While there are things we can do to hold our weapons of destruction in check, we have no such power to control the elements of nature. Only God can do that, and for that, men and nations will legislate and control consciences in their attempt to get His attention.

Truth be known, God’s hands will then be tied and unable to respond. For divine love demands freedom of choice, and we have corporately chosen to ignore His divine law and authority by supplanting Sunday, a self-proclaimed change by the Catholic Church, for the seventh-day of the week. God’s only choice is to let us have our way and reap the self-destruction resulting therefrom before He is in a position to create a new heaven and new earth as He has promised to do for those that choose to love, serve, and follow Him.

What we have forgotten or ignored until now in this discussion is that our world has been engaged in a war between good and evil, God and Satan, since Adam sold out to the “serpent” six thousand years ago in the Garden of Eden. This war is real, it is brutal, and it is rapidly intensifying as Satan seeks to take as many of us as possible to hell with him.

The following quote of more than 100 years ago prophesying of our time is pertinent for us today.

A Time of Trouble Such as Never Was

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Dan. 12:1.

When the third angel’s message closes, mercy no longer pleads for the guilty inhabitants of the earth. The people of God have accomplished their work. They have received “the latter rain,” “the . . . refreshing . . . from the presence of the Lord,” and they are prepared for the trying hour before them. Angels are hastening to and fro in heaven. An angel returning from the earth announces that his work is done; the final test has been brought upon the world, and all who have proved themselves loyal to the divine precepts have received “the seal of the living God.” Then Jesus ceases His intercession in the sanctuary above. He lifts His hands and with a loud voice says, “It is done.” . . .

When He leaves the sanctuary, darkness covers the inhabitants of the earth. In that fearful time the righteous must live in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor. The restraint which has been upon the wicked is removed, and Satan has entire control of the finally impenitent. God’s long-suffering has ended. The world has rejected His mercy, despised His love, and trampled upon His law. The wicked have passed the boundary of their probation; the Spirit of God, persistently resisted, has been at last withdrawn. Unsheltered by divine grace, they have no protection from the wicked one. Satan will then plunge the inhabitants of the earth into one great, final trouble. As the angels of God cease to hold in check the fierce winds of human passion, all the elements of strife will be let loose. The whole world will be involved in ruin more terrible than that which came upon Jerusalem of old.

Those only who have clean hands and pure hearts will stand in that trying time. . . . Now is the time, while the four angels are holding the four winds, to make our calling and election sure.
